I’m sharing a fun design
project very close to my ❤️.
Now it’s been a hot minute since I was a teenager (okay okay 30 years.... big hair, braces, yikes!... just don’t do the math!) Here’s the proof at age 13 😂. Y’all look at the brown sculpted carpet!!!
Shaw Floors was asked to consult on a youth wing redesign for a local church. Previously it had all black walls sprinkled with lime green accents set against worn black and once white checkerboard VCT. It was a fusion of a 1950’s cafe meets 1980’s neon green.
The goal was to create a softer welcoming warm palette on a respectable budget that would make the teens feel welcome.
Shaw Floors resilient to the rescue!
We selected Floorte EVP, Enhanced Vinyl Plank, Como Plus in color Verona on the floors for warmth, clean-ability, and durability. Because .... well, teens. Bonus - the fact that we can install Floorte directly over the old floor with no telegraphing. Now that saved the budget. No rip out!!!
We contrasted darker wall accents with 6 mil LVP Expo in color Barcelona behind the island and adjacent wall.
And just for fun, as a focal point on stage, is a custom random wood wall with recycled wood scraps.
Big thanks to our Upstate South Carolina installers: Lamar Blackwell Installation, T Rendellman Paint & Construction, and Cedar Ridge Construction.
We used a local female artist Verdant Market for all of the inspired touches of custom hand-made art. Don’t you just love a before and after? I sure do!
We’d love to see your latest EVP and LVP projects. Tag us at #shawfloors #psshawfloors so we can feature you.
